Artifact Trivia Challenge, Final Round
. . . For now!
Our Curator Cat, Frankie, isn’t too sure about this one . . .
What is that strange, boxy thing?
It has eight hollow columns. At the top, there’s a hole leading into each tube, and at the bottom, each tube ends in a point. Do you know what it could be?
It’s a candle mold! These days, candle-making has become an artisan craft and candles are often massive and full of crystals, sparkles, and other doodads. But this mold is purely practical, meant for making long, plain, taper candles. This was essential in the days when candles were your only night light!
Now that it gets dark so early, can you imagine relying purely on these candles—candles which, most likely, you or someone in your family needed to make—for light?
