Happy Thanksgiving!
Curator Cat Frankie wants to know where the feast is!
At Thanksgiving, many dishes highlight local food—pumpkins, squashes, corn, winter vegetables, and even turkey itself. Thanksgiving was made a nation-wide holiday in 1863 by President Lincoln, which makes it one of our longer-standing official observances! And even though it may bring up some controversies and tensions now, the underlying message of gratitude and community is still one that resonates.
That’s why the true feast around here is the adorableness of Frankie himself! (But don’t worry—we’ll be sure to get him a little something extra to eat, too.)
